couple of witnesses during which I think we have | exposed the absurdity of claiming that the idea of a power take-off in its normal place at the rear tractor constituted an invention simply because i sarily was located between the universal attachment for a linkage which is always immobilized laterally ever an implement employing the power take-off is at to the tractor. : The trial moves at a much more leisurely pace than any of us would like and it is impossible to estim when the plaintiffs will finish their case or even when ~ will give us an opportunity to see Mr. Ferguson on the stan But we all hope that matters will move more rapidly in the future than they have in the last few months and that we will not have to wait too long before having an opportunity to show to the Court some of the revealing correspondence ~ with respect to patents passing between Ferguson and the patent agents. Judge Bromley and I had a pleasant week in August last summer in the course of which we spent ten to twelve hours a day on Dearborn Farm driving tractors and learning to operate some of the implements which we had theretofore known only by name. We both gained a new respect for anyone who can successfully operate such implements as middle- busters, and our admiration for anyone who can successfully split ridges is unbounded. We all hope that you and your daughters are en- joying yourselves and remaining in good health, and Dorothy and I both look forward toreturning sometime to County Antrim for a visit when I shall not have to remain cooped up in the Grand Central Hotel.
