No. 152h6/h9 Further to our letter of 19th December we now forward herewith copies of the following British Patent Specifications which have been cited by the British Patent Office:- 579,285 (Shaw) 326,31 (Nightingale) 483,343 (Mason and Sons) 290,790 (Chorltern) 327,309 (Blyth) 190,578 (Garden). The Examiner cites these specifications more particularly against claims 1, 2, 3, 7, 9, 10 and il and states that they are typical of many others which would appear to completely anticipate claim l. This is perhaps not surprising as claim 1 was drawn very broadly. We have not studied the cited specifications, but would first like to have your comments and suggest-—- ions as to the important differences so that we can con- sider redrafting the specification and limiting the claims to the novel features of your proposals. The Examiner has stated that the application should be put in order before 1th June, but if the matter is to be proceeded with it will of course be desirable to lodge our amendments as soon as possible.
