MYRTLEFIELD, HILLSBOROUGH OLD ROAD, LISBURN, CO. ANTRIM. 17th December 195). Dear Mr. Ferguson, I wish to express my very sincere thanks for your very nice letter and cheque received yesterday. All ny family join with me in thanking you and Mrs. Ferguson for your kind wishes and extend greetings to you and yours at this seasonable time. I am sure I would enjoy hearing and help solve some of your problems, I, myself, know the inspiration one gets from such research work, and the feeling of achievement from solving problems is such that, I think, recompenses all set-backs which crop up from time to time. I shall write you at a later date giving you an idea of how much I have done in these past few months, but in the meantime I want to thank you once again for your generosity at this Christmastide.
